Many people are doing politics on Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Olympics and many things are being said. Some are calling it a conspiracy, while others are saying something else. But before saying anything, we should know the story behind it. Vinesh Phogat’s normal weight is around 57 kg. She has also played in this category before. Some players can easily lose three-four kg of weight, so she used to play in 53 kg also. But this time she lost seven kg and participated in 50 kg. All this had to be done because Vinesh is 29 years old and by the next Olympics she will be 33. In such a situation, new players would come and the competition would become tough. Before the semi-finals, her weight was 49.9 kg. And that was when she was eating very little and drinking very little water for many days. Then she played three successful matches, so there was probably a loss of energy, to compensate for which she might have had to take some diet. Due to this, her weight increased by 2.8 kg. She worked hard all night to reduce it. By morning, she lost 2.7 kg, but missed 100 grams. Sakshi Malik, who is herself a wrestler, says that she even got blood drawn so that she could lose weight. Obviously, she ate something that increased her weight so much. You must remember that when Vinesh decided to participate in the 50 kg weight category, many wrestling experts were saying that she should not do so. Obviously, there was a reason for this. Undoubtedly, Vinesh Phogat is a very passionate player and has proved herself on many occasions, but the conspiracy that is being talked about now does not make sense. Not only this, those who are saying that she was disqualified just because of 100 grams, should understand that this is Olympics, not a village competition where you can make some mistakes. It has its own rules and regulations, which all the players have to follow. The best referees from all over the world are called in. Everything is videographed, so stop making baseless allegations. Everyone is sad about Phogat being disqualified. But what can you do? Do not distract the players by saying provocative things, rather encourage them.
