BREAKING: IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2021 Put on Hold by Govt

The IBPS clerk recruitment examination 2021 is temporarily stopped by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on instructions from the finance ministry, following the demand to conduct clerical examinations in local/ regional languages. A committee has been formed by the centre, to look into this matter which will submit its recommendations within 15 days.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) on July 12 released the official notification for recruitment to 5830 clerk vacancies in public sector banks. While the last date to apply was August 1, IBPS pulled down the notice on July 13 stating this message “The Common Recruitment Process for CRP-CLERKS-XI Application Link is temporarily stopped.

Allow local language in exams:

The issue was about IBPS conducting the examination for clerk recruitment in two languages – English and Hindi. Mr.Siddaramaiah, the leader of opposition (Congress) from Karnataka kicked up a storm on Twitter, criticizing the central govt for not allowing candidates to attend the IBPS exams in Kannada.

In a series of tweets, the former chief minister accused PM Narendra Modi, Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, and BJP of taking an anti-Kannada stand and betraying Kannadigas. He also lashed out at Mrs. Sitharaman and said “Being elected to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, she has constantly betrayed Kannadigas and Kannada. She has continued the same with respect to IBPS exams. She is unfit to represent the people of Karnataka in Rajya Sabha. She would resign if she had any shame”.

New IBPS clerk notification 2021?

The finance ministry, later in the day, issued a statement, calling off the IBPS clerk recruitment 2021 process, and formed a committee to look into the demands of including regional language as a mode to write the examination.

So, we can expect IBPS to release a new clerk recruitment notification only after 15 days based on the recommendations submitted by the committee, appointed by the finance ministry.
