Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has started for first time interactive WhatsApp services for its registered LIC policyholders. The insurancegiant made the announcement. Shri M.R. Kumar, the chair of LIC of India, introduced a few of the company’s interactive services to policyholders via WhatsApp.
How to use LIC WhatsApp services
The insurer said that “policyholders who have registered their Policies on the LIC Portal will be able to make use of these services on WhatsApp.”
Policyholders should text ‘Hi’ on mobile no. 8976862090 from their registered mobile number. The following screen will help policyholders to avail listed services. Choose the option number for selection of services.

How to register LIC policy on LIC portal
1: Visit www.licindia.in and Click on “Customer Portal”
2: If you have not registered earlier for Customer Portal, click on “New user”
3: Provide the following details:
4: Visit www.licindia.in, click on the tab “new User”, select your own user-id and password and provide all the necessary information. Now you are a registered Portal user.
5: Click the “e-Services” tab, log in using the user ID you created, and register your policies for using the e-services by filling out the provided form.
6: Print the form, sign it and upload the scanned image of the form.
7: Upload the scanned image of PAN Card or Aadhaar Card or Passport.
8: After verification by LIC offices, an acknowledgement e-mail and SMS will be sent to you. Now you are ready to avail our e-services.
9: Click on Submit button
10: Choose the user id and password of your choice and submit.
11: Login and click on the option of ‘Basic Services’ >“Add Policy”
12: Enroll all your remaining policies.
