ग्रीनलैंड के ग्लेशियर पिघलने से मौसम पर हो सकता है असर
वाशिंगटन, एजेंसी। पिछले चार दशक में ग्रीनलैंड से 20 प्रतिशत से ज्यादा बर्फ की चादर गायब हो गई। यह दावा नासा की जेट प्रोपल्शन प्रयोगशाला के वैज्ञानिकों ने किया है। 1985 से 2022 के बीच दो लाख से ज्यादा तस्वीरों के आधार पर खुलासा हुआ।
शोधकर्ताओं के मुताबिक, करीब एक लाख करोड़ मीट्रिक टन से ज्यादा ग्लेशियर खत्म हो गए हैं। ग्लेशियर के पिघलने से समुद्र के औसत जलस्तर में करीब 13.5 मिलीमीटर की वृद्धि हुई है। शोधकर्ताओं ने कहा कि बर्फ के पिघलने से समुद्री धाराएं प्रभावित हो सकती हैं, जिससे मौसम संबंधी परिवर्तन में बदलाव देखने को मिल सकता है। इससे पहले इंटरनेशनल आइस शीट मास बैलेंस इंटर-कंपेरिजन एक्सरसाइज (आईएमबीआईइ) से जुड़े वैज्ञानिकों का मानना है कि ग्रीनलैंड में जमा ग्लेशियर करीब 539,000 करोड़ टन बर्फ खो चुकी है। शोधकर्ताओं ने खोई हुई इसी बर्फ की मात्रा का आकलन अपने अध्ययन के तहत किया है।
Washington, Agency. More than 20 percent of the ice sheet disappeared from Greenland in the last four decades. This claim has been made by scientists of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The revelation was made on the basis of more than two lakh photographs between 1985 and 2022.
According to researchers, more than one lakh crore metric tons of glaciers have been lost. Due to the melting of the glacier, the average sea level has increased by about 13.5 mm. Researchers said that melting ice could affect ocean currents, which could lead to changes in weather patterns. Earlier, scientists associated with the International Ice Sheet Mass Balance Inter-Comparison Exercise (IMBIE) believe that the glacier stored in Greenland has lost about 539,000 crore tons of ice. Researchers have estimated the amount of ice lost as part of their study.
