मार्च 2024 से दूरी के हिसाब से चुकाना होगा टोल : गडकरी
नई दिल्ली, एजेंसी। केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने बुधवार को कहा कि राजमार्गो पर लगे मौजूदा टोल प्लाजा को हटाने के लिए अगले साल मार्च तक जीपीएस आधारित टोल संग्रह प्रणाली सहित नई तकनीकों को लागू किया जाएगा। इससे यातायात जाम को कम करने में मद्द मिलेगी। साथ ही वाहन चालकों से हाईवे पर तय की गई वास्तविक दूरी के हिसाब से ही टोल वसूल किया जाएगा।
गडकरी ने कहा कि सरकार देश में टोल प्लाजा को बदलने के लिए जीपीएस आधारित टोल सिस्टम सहित नई तकनीकों पर विचार कर रही है। हम अगले साल मार्च तक पूरे देश में नया जीपीएस सैटेलाइट आधारित टोल संग्रह शुरू कर देंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय नेि स्वचालित टोल संग्रह को सक्षम बनाने के लिए स्वचालित नंबर प्लेट महचान प्रणाली (ऑटोमैटिक नंबर प्लेट रीडर कैमरा) के दो पायलट प्रोजेक्ट भी चलाए हैं।

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday said new technologies, including GPS-based toll collection system, will be implemented by March next year to remove existing toll plazas on highways. This will help in reducing traffic jams. Also, toll will be collected from the drivers according to the actual distance traveled on the highway.
Gadkari said the government is considering new technologies, including GPS-based toll systems, to replace toll plazas in the country. We will start the new GPS satellite based toll collection across the country by March next year. He said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also run two pilot projects of Automatic Number Plate Reader Camera to enable automated toll collection.
