However, there are also many people who have filled their ITRs and are waiting for Income Tax Refund. If you are also in such taxpayers, then check whether you have got your bank account pre-validated. Explain that if a refund is made after filing ITR, then the Central Tax Processing Center (CPC) of the Income Tax Department transfers it to your bank account. However, for this it is necessary to pre-validate the bank account in which you want to transfer the refund.
Income tax department will send refund in any one bank account
For income tax refund, if you wish, now you can also register more than one bank account. The Income Tax Department will transfer the refund amount to any one pre-validated bank account. Even after this facility, it is believed that it is better to give the same bank account for refund. With this, you can easily keep track of how much refund has been transferred to your account. To pre-validate a bank account, go to www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and login your account. Please tell that your user ID will be your PAN number to login the account.
Click on Add to add another bank account
After login, go to the Profile Settings tab and click on Pre-validate your bank account option. If you already have a bank account pre-validated, then it will appear on the screen. Now if you want to transfer the refund to another account, then click on Add. After this a new page will open, in which you will have to fill the bank account number, account type, IFSC, bank name, branch, mobile number and email ID. Please tell that fill the mobile number and email ID given in the bank here as well. Then click on Pre-Validate. As soon as you click on the screen, ‘Pre-validating bank account request has been submitted.’ You will get its message through e-mail and SMS.
>> You can check pre-validated status of bank account by clicking Profile Settings option on income tax e-filing website.
>> If you want to remove a bank account from an e-filing account, then go to Profile Settings and click on the Remove option.
>> Apart from pre-validation, it is important that your bank account is linked to PAN. If it is not, the refund will not come in your account.
>> The name given on the PAN should match the bank account. If this happens, the bank account will be pre-validated.
>> If the mobile number and email ID linked to the bank account match the registered number on the e-filing portal, then such account can be used to generate EVC, from which the return can be verified.
